    Latest creative endeavour
As my attempts to get someone to illustrate "WitchSable" seem to have failed again, I've been persuaded to explore an alternative - Crossover Harry Potter Fanfic!

My stories so far on The Petulant Poetess.

Any comments are welcome, either here or on PP.

    Public Service Announcement
Some of you may have noticed that Microsoft have updated their security procedures, so that if (heaven forfend!) anyone is using an unlicenced copy of XP, Windows Update will no longer run.

Now, I'm sure that nobody who reads this would be so evil as to need a workaround. However, just for your information, it _can_ be easily disabled: In IE, Tools > Internet Options > Programs > Manage Add-Ons > Microsoft Genuine Advantage > Disable.

For anyone who reads this and who was on FA.
As you may know, FurAffinity has closed due to management problems. One of the people involved, Arcturus, is setting up a new archive, and he'd like permission from anyone who would like their FA archives to be transferred to it. If anyone who reads this was on FA and would like to be on his new archive (ArtFU), please post to This thread on the AF discussion forum.

    Announcement!
Despite my better judgement, at the urging of various people who I _do_ admire and respect very much, I've put my website back up:

    The New JIMX Gallery Space

A few new pictures have been added over the year it's been down; hope you like them. Any "comments", "suggestions", or similar missives will be ignored. It's my site, so ner.

    OK, I'll bite. :)
    </i>The Xmas List Meme:
    - Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

    - If you wish for real-life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

    Step Two

    - Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

    - If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. Play it forward.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.</i>

    1. Death.

    That was easy. :)

    And the process continues!
    Hi folks!

It looks like the process of dissociating myself from the fandom is getting easier. :) Tonight, I deleted my website - twelve years of pain and misery just gone with a few mouse-clicks. :) Starting again might not be so easy, but at least I hope I'm on the right track.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me - love you all. :)

    * growl *
Another bitchy post - please ignore.

The furry community and I are becoming less and less compatible, which I'm sure isn't that bad in the long run - finding something to replace it may not be easy, considering my complete lack of RL social skills, but the recent split on FurNet has underlined the fact I just _don't_ fit in; FurNet itself now seems to be entirely composed of the lifestylers who I've _never_ been able to put up with, and Anthrochat has (a) been repopulated with all the arrogant bastards from 10 years ago who made it Hell for me back then, and (b) sold its soul to Sibe, who will be an admin before the end of the month (if I'm any judge) and who I wouldn't be suprised to find organized the whole split in the first place for precisely this reason.

Together with that, the last few genuine friends I had there are now dedicating their time to various self-indulgent and implausible "business" projects that seem to be driven more by resentment of their failure in legitimate fields than by any possible chance of sucess, or skill in the areas involved. (And, yes, the two of you who think that I'm referring to your projects - I am).

Ah well - if you are, or if you know, an artist who has work outstanding for me, please consider my request/payment as void, and don't bother continuing with it. If anyone would like to make me an offer for my existing art collection, I'm very likely to accept it. "Tevildo", although he's survived for 22 years now, doesn't look like he has a future.

    Very Typical Posting
Ah well, nearly a year since the last update - mainly due to me forgetting my password, and not having anything interesting to say. However, all my usual channels for venting are blocked tonight, and this, after all, is what LiveJournals are for.

The past year has _not_ been a good one, as most of you will know. I'm single again, and likely to remain so; I spent Christmas and the new year in mental hospital, without a great deal to show at the end of it; my job continues soul-destroying; and my one remaining connection with the furry community, via FurBid, was severed by mutual consent last night, due to irreconcilable differences over the new Terms of Service.

I suppose that I should try and take a positive approach to things - throw away all my "artwork" and the rest of the physical and emotional crap I've collected over the past 15 years or so, find a decent psychotherapist, meet some real people - *sighs* - but it's not going to happen, and I'll be posting more-or-less the same message as this next year.

Thanks for giving me this opportunity to be miserable. :)

    An update...
    Hi folks!

Think it's time to say something. :) Starting to cope with the SSRI's, therefore drunk. Lots of nice new pictures in the past few days, website update due at the weekend, if I make it that far.

I love Ash very much. :)

Feeling a bit better - managed to do the washing, at least. And changed the lightbulb in the kitchen by precariously balancing on the work surface. SSRI-induced zombiedom starting to develop already, but I can live with it...

New pics from Deep Forest, Calista and Natasha Cat - website updated.

I love Ash very much and hope he gets better soon.

    Still alive
I still feel foul - if anything, I'm worse than I was on Friday - but at least I've now paid a phenomenal sum of money for some sort of ultra-generic remedy that you can probably get at WalMart in the States for $2.99, so let's see if that improves things at all.

Also have to go through the hell of SSRI's again before I'm back on my beloved tricyclics, but it's a step in the right direction. I wish we didn't have to go through the intermediary of the useless, patronising, and overpaid doctor to get to the drugs we need - but that's the way the world works.

Didn't make it to kyo's at the weekend, obviously.

Still, got some nice pics (from Ruthe, Liger, Cesarin and Braford) at the weekend, and did another website update, so I'm not yet entirely incapacitated.

    More when I'm feeling better.

Still feel dreadful...  Finished the scans and burnt the CD, let's hope I'm up to dragging myself to the post office tomorrow.  Theoretically off to kyo's place for the weekend - let's see if that helps.

Not a very good day... Feel very ill, I hope I'm not getting 'flu again. Had to leave work early, but that's never a bad thing.  Weather foul, too - hail, nearly snow at some stages of the day. Paid the phone bill and sent off a commission payment - that's about all I've been capable of.

Another artist from years back has re-established contact, so there's been some progress, though.

Not too bad a day at work - managed to get a few productive things finished, and spent quite a lot of the day introducing our latest recruit to the office - the boss, naturally, hadn't bothered to set up his account on the system, so he'll have to sit on his hands for a few days until it goes through, but I'm sure we'll find some suitably menial task to keep him occupied. :)

Some good news on the art-front - I've got back in touch with Ayame, an excellent artist who's been out of the fandom for a couple of years, but who hasn't forgotten a commission she was working on for me. :) And I've _nearly_ finished the scans for [info]ultraviolet - the CD should be in the post this week sometime.

Thanks to [info]xianjaguar for permission to use the picture and for adding me to her friends list, too. :)

    First Entry!
Well, the first entry of my LiveJournal! Already picked up a couple of friends - let's hope that some more come out of the woodwork. :)
I hope that this won't be too traumatic an experience - and, perhaps, I'll be able to think of something that's actually happened to write about tomorrow.
